How many of us make time for a date night with our significant others? Does date night really happen any more? We are all caught up in the hustle and bustle of our lives: Work, Kids, Social Commitments.... that we are forgetting to take care our relationship with our spouse.
This happened to me. We got into the routine of work and kids, that our ”date nights” ended up happening on our coach, watching Dexter. We were spending time together but not, if that makes sense. We still had the interruption of home. As we sat on the couch together cuddled up, we weren’t talking, just consumed in watching the show, not communicating.
I decided to have a talk with my Husband about making date night a priority. And he totally agreed. Date night is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. And it was time we started treating it like one.
We scheduled our date night the first week of November. We went to Top Golf. We had an amazing time. We Golfed, We drank, We talked, We flirted, and I almost fell off the top floor trying to look cool for him while I swung my club, spun and almost fell off. We reconnected. We remembered how much fun each other were.
Why is it so important for that alone time? Reconnect. Get to know each other again. Remember how fun each other are and why you fell you in love. And Sexy time!!!!!
Sex is important as well, whether you want to admit it or not, it’s still a taboo subject to some. It’s important to have that intimate physical alone time.
In conclusion, make time! We have a few dates nights since then and it has been great, we still have date nights on the coach but it’s different. We talk, we laugh, we goof around. We are finding a balance again of work, kids, and us.
