My Greatest Love...

What can I say... My relationship is not perfect, but I love what I have. Alex and I met in junior year of high school in 2002. It was funny, we had Algebra together, and one day while I tuning out the teacher, I was watching Alex taking notes and thought he would make a good boyfriend. 2 weeks later Alex had came to ask me out, he was a stuttering mess but so cute, so we had our first date. When we started dating I made it clear, I DID NOT WANT TO GET MARRIED or HAVE KIDS. I think he took it as a personal challenge to see if he can change my mind. Fast forward to a year and a half later... I had moved in with him and we were engaged. 6 months before we got married we decided to try for a baby. I think its safe to say he had changed my mind lol. We got married in March of 2004 and 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. Our Daughter was born in December.

Our journey hasn't been an easy one. We had our ups and downs, sometimes it seemed like a lot of downs. But each time we had overcome whatever obstacle that was in our way on the obstacle course that is called life. It took us a while to have another child out of fear and some fertility issues, but 13 years later we had our son.

Is any words really needed?

My Husband is a great father to both our children. Our daughter is a Daddy's girl till the end. They have such a great relationship, and is everything I could ask for as I do not have a good relationship with my own Father. Hence the reason I didn't want to get married or have children. My parents had gotten divorced when I was in 3rd grade, and it was a really rough divorce. Seeing what my parents had gone through and how it affected us kids was something I never wanted to put my children through if I had some. My relationship with my Mother was strained for a while, but during that time I had good relationship with my father. I now have a great relationship with my Mother, and I am not on speaking terms with my father.

Alex had made me see the light, if you will, that not all relationships and marriages turn out bad, it's all in how you dictate it. Alex's parents have been together for a little over 40 years, and that wasn't a concept to me. In addition to my Parents divorce, my Grandparents who I was close to was divorced, so a stable marriage was never a concept. But seeing how long Alex's parents were together, made me realize that I wanted to be married to Alex for 40 some odd years and grow old together. He has shown me love, family, support, teamwork, stability, and makes me want to be the best for him. My favorite thing is to go bed and waking up to him. He is mine and I his. He his truly my soulmate.
