I love to shop, but I don’t like to spend a lot of money, especially since I have two children. I rather spend all my money on them, I splurge on them. So when it comes to me, I always look for deals. I’ve learned that I can look expensive without buying expensive stuff.
I did this look book with a couple of my favorite staple pieces, that make an outfit look expensive and put together.
What I feel that every women needs in their closet are:
Pointy Heels or Flats
Floral Pieces
Jean Jacket
Chuncky Sweater
Checker/ Flannel Shirt
Black Jeans
Neutral colored shirts
Ankel Boots
Kimono
Shoes that have a pop of Color
Distressed Jeans
Leggings/ Athletic pants
Cheetah Print
Snake Print shoes
Invest in an expensive bag (I know, I said not expensive stuff, but if you invest it makes any outfit extra)
Most of these clothes I bought at Old Navy and Target. I purchased the Kimono from PinkBlush, and a pair of leggings from Duluth. All I got on sale.
Chuncky Sweater-
This is my favorite sweater. I got this on clearance for $14 at Target. I wear this sweater with two pairs of flats. Either my snake print or burgundy flats.
Checkered/ Flannel Shirt-
I love checkered and flannel shirts. I choose to use my Buffalo plaid flannel because it’s cold here in Colorado, I wear this a lot and I love it. On the left I’m wearing my black jeans and cheetah flats, all from Old Navy. On the right I’m wearing leggings I got from Old Navy and Black Ankel boots purchased from Target.
Florals-
I purchased this classy floral shirt from Old Navy and paired it with dark jeans and pointy black flats. Work appropriate and night on the town fanciness.
Floral Kimono-
This Kimono is one of my favorite pieces. I love the green and how the flowers have neutral colors. You can wear either a white or a black shirt with it. I paired this with jeans and brown Ankel books (boots purchased at Target). For more of a spring look and pair leggings and sandals with it.
Neutrals-
This is my favorite look and I feel my most expensive look. I took this Neutral Striped Shirt and paired it with dark jeans that I cuffed at the bottom with black pointed flats. I feel very dressed up even though I’m wearing jeans.
Jean Jacket and a pop of color-
I love the all Black look especially if you give it a pop of color. The colors I incorporated are blue jean and red. I love my Jean jacket and I think it goes with everything. These red flats I got at Target, are so amazing and I feel it gives the outfit an expensive look ( they are $20 at Target).
Casually put together (Busy Mom Look)-
There are those days where, I don’t want to get dressed and just want to be comfortable in my leggings, but I still want to look like I put effort in my look. My husband during the holidays hit a sale at Duluth and bought me the noga leggings, which are originally I think $80, but since he hit a sale, he purchased them for $30. Let me tell you! These are the best leggings I’ve ever had. I haven’t bought another pair yet because I’m waiting for them to go on sale again. I can pair them with a pullover sweater or a jean jacket.
You’re gonna hear me roar!!!-
Get in that Animal print! Don’t be shy! My favorite animal print is Cheetah. I have flats and a couple of scarfs. This is my favorite one I purchased at Old Navy. And always pairing it with Black and Red seems to really bring out the print.
Expensive Bag-
My Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM is my first luxury purse, that I’m super glad I invested in. It gives my outfits that extra spice. Don’t get me wrong I still adore my Coach bags, but I Think this Neverfull has ruined them for me. This purse is amazing and the name says it all, it’s neverfull. The purse comes with a Wristlet that is featured in my florals piece above.
Those are my staple pieces. Drop me a comment and let me know what you’re staple pieces are for your expensive non expensive looks!
Thanks for stopping bye!
